How Waverate compares.

Where you can rate music, side by side. The Waverate list covers only what's in the app today. Facts about other services come from their own websites, pricing pages and app store listings, checked on October 9, 2026.

Waverate today

Where it runs
iPhone, on the App Store. Android is in a closed beta.
How you score
Songs and albums from 0.00 to 10.00 in 0.25 steps, with an optional review of up to 350 characters, private unless you choose to share it with friends. A score of 8.00 or higher makes it a favourite.
Catalogues
Every rating goes into your Main Catalogue, with a To Listen list for later. Add your own catalogues and choose which ones friends can see.
Friends
A Fused Catalogue with each friend: what you've both rated, your scores side by side, a combined score and a match percentage, plus recommendations from each other's top ratings.
Listening
30-second Apple Music previews play in the app. Connect Spotify to open the same song there.
Your stats
Streaks, top artists, albums and songs, Detailed Analytics, achievements and a Home Screen widget.
Price
Free, with ads: up to 8 custom catalogues and 10 friends (20 with a 30-day rating streak). Premium is $1.99 a month: no ads, unlimited catalogues and friends.
The Rate dialog in Waverate: a 9.25 score on the slider, a private review box and catalogue chips.
